Many users struggle with custom ringtones. Have you tried placing your MP3 in the Notifications folder as well, or perhaps a dedicated "Ringtones" folder if one exists on your device? Sometimes, the system needs a reboot after file placement to scan for new audio. It's like trying to find the winning strategy in Pips NYT – sometimes the obvious answer isn't the one that works!
